If you buy this and notice the fit is tight, you may want to sand the holder or scrape some plastic off it so it does not fit so tight. I was still able to make that cup of coffee, but that was the last time. I may take a picture of it and post it in a further review. I knew the glass was thicker the moment I felt it. Good luck. The other day I put the disassembled press back together and as I was boiling water for coffee, I heard a "chinx" noise. It fit much tighter in it's holder. Upon looking at the glass I noticed a horse shoe shaped crack eminating from the bottom where it is seated in the holder.
I have no complaint. great replacement, save you the money from buying new press.
This beaker is identical to the original in my Bodum french press. None were available in the stores in my area, so I placed an order with Amazon and four days later, I was enjoying my coffee again. Thank you for saving my day. I am fussy about my coffee and choose to prepare it in a french press every morning. In-spite of careful daily handling, accidents still happen and replacement beakers were needed for both of my Bodum french presses.
We have other size Bodum French presses, plus some of their pots and pans (with the cool see thru lids) - love this company, their style and their commitment to produce excellence. We used ours 3 times a day, 7 days a week, and it lasted close to a year. Yes, the beaker breaks if you slam it into other dishes while loading the dishwasher (ok, so I'm a klutz). However, it's still worth the $10.
Still, can't live without my Bodums. So happy to be able to replace my original broken beaker. I wish there was an unbreakable replacement, as this is the second time that I have broken one.
